Stearns County, located in Central Minnesota was supposed to be named Stevens County. There is a Stevens County Minnesota, but it is two counties west.
The seat is St. Cloud, and the largest city is St. Cloud. St Cloud stretches into Sherburne and Benton Counties as well.
Stearns county is bordered by Morrison, Benton, Sherburne, Wright, Meeker, Kandiohi, Pope, Douglas and Todd Counties.
Main Roads through the county include I-94, US-10, US-71, MN-23 and MN-15.
